We are a young couple looking for a non-smoking live-in au pair to look after our three wonderful children 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) starting at the end of May/early June. Your weekends will be free, and most of Wednesday will also be free every week. Because we need someone who can take care of our children full time on the given days, this job will not suit anyone who attends English classes during the day or needs to attend classes for visa purposes. We would like someone who can stay with us for at least one year.
We are looking for someone who is loving and caring, responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. And someone who genuinely loves children, and enjoys playing with them.
As school transport is included in the duties, a clean European driving license is essential. No housework required, except to help the children tidy up after meals and playtime. Experience is preferred but not essential.
Our eldest is a 5-year old girl, who is in junior infants at school; our son is 3 years old and will be starting Montessori School in September; and our youngest daughter is 15 months old. We enjoy the outdoors, and are energetic and fun-loving.
Key duties include helping us get the children up and dressed in the mornings, and help prepare breakfast and tidy up afterwards; take care of our younger 2 children for the morning - take them to the playground/library/beach etc, and then collect our eldest daughter from school at 1.30pm; prepare lunch and tidy up afterwards; settle the younger children for their afternoon naps, and then do homework and afternoon play. We usually have dinner at 6.15/6.30pm, and at most we'd ask you to put something pre-prepared in the oven and set the table. There'd be no real cooking or heavy meal preparation, unless of course you'd like to cook.
We live in Monkstown, which is a lovely village on the south side of Dublin at the sea. The DART train service is a 5 minute walk away, and the city centre is a 20 minute ride on the DART. Monkstown is half-way between 2 larger suburban villages called Blackrock and Dun Laoghaire - both walking distance, with great amenities for children such as playgrounds, parks, swimming, library, etc.
We will welcome you into our home and provide you with your own double bedroom in our 5-bedroom house, with TV, Wifi etc. We do not have any pets.
If you would like a reference about us we can put you in touch with our current much-loved childminder, who is only leaving us because her time in Ireland is over and she must return home to Spain.
