**LIVE IN** care required from late September 2021.
Please note: a visa allowing the carer to legally work in Ireland is required.
We are looking for someone to care for our 87 year old mother who had a stroke in 2016 and is very paralysed as a result. She needs assistance with everything, including personal care, toileting, dressing, eating, drinking etc. We have carers coming for a number of hours every day but need someone to supplement these hours (approx 30 - 35 hours a week) at evenings and weekends.
We are looking for someone who is patient, kind, trustworthy and capable. A 'can do' attitude, with a bit of initiative and a sense of humour would be useful.
Her 3 daughters live right beside her so help is generally available if and when when necessary.
We live in the country so being comfortable with living in a rural setting is important. We have had carers who attended daily English as part of their visa and it was possible that they get a lift to Cork each day.
It would suit someone who would like to improve their English. Also someone who enjoys walking or cycling and the being in the outdoors. We live by the sea - so it is very scenic. We are 3km from the closest village.
Being comfortable with animals is important as we have dogs, cats and chickens.
It is important that the carer be happy to live in the countryside It is very quiet and peaceful. That said, there are people going to Cork each morning and the carer is welcome to get a lift to Cork, or a lift to the bus in the local village (Belgooly).
Ability to work legally in Ireland is important.
More information is available - please message and ask any questions you would like answered.
Refererences and Garda/police check will be required.
