Dear au pair
We are a young family living in a very beautiful part of Ireland; Strandhill, Co Sligo. We have three children, Oisín will be 8 in September, Saorla was 5 in April and Ruán was 3 in April. We have had two au pairs who have both stayed for 18 months (they were only supposed to come for 9). Tania our most recent au pair is from Madrid, will happily speak with you privately about what it is like to live and work for us.
We are looking for an au pair to live with us and look after our 3 children.Â
We live 3 km from the very busy, buzzy surf village of Strandhill, Co Sligo, our house has been recently renovated and we have stunning views of the bay. You will have your own room and bathroom at the other side of the house from our bedrooms so when you are not working you will have total privacy.
We look forward to welcoming an au pair who LOVES kids and will have great energy, patience and kindness for our children.
In exchange we will welcome you into our family and offer you the opportunity to live a good lifestyle on the West Coast of Ireland. There are lots of other au pairs already in Strandhill and we hope that whoever comes here will be social and get to participate in lots of the exciting adventure and cultural opportunities that are here.Â
Strandhill and Sligo are really great for anybody interested in the outdoors; we have mountains, surf, lakes and lots of adventure. There is also lots of culture here and Yeats is buried here.
We live in a house in the countryside, 4km from Strandhill so you will have to be able to drive. You can see from the photos that the views are stunning.
You will live with us in our beautiful home and have your own bedroom and bathroom at the opposite end of the house from ours so you will have plenty of privacy.
Our kids are bundles of energy as all small children are; they love to get lots of fresh air, play lots, watch some tv and have lots of fun. We try to get them out and about as much as possible, whether that's down to the beach, local playground or just out in the garden. We also have a playroom in our house with plenty of toys for rainy days. We love doing creative things with them too, lego, painting, drawing, reading stories.
We are looking for an au pair from Oct of this year (As unfortunately Tania is getting a job locally here in Sligo in a creche).
We expect you to work around 30 hours per week and mostly daytime but with some flexibility.Â
We need your help in the morning from 8-9am getting the kids out to school and cleaning up after breakfast in the morning. Ruán finishes school at 12.30, Saorla finishes school at 1.30, and Oisin goes to school until 2.30pm each day in the local primary school. You will need to pick them up after school.
So mostly you will do daytime hours for us 4 days per week. It will definitely be busy looking after 3 small kids; we know that so we will do our best to offer your the best support and make sure that you feel supported and part of our family. We are very open and kind people, we want to make your time here as positive as it can be.Â
