Au Pair wanted in Italy, Garda Lake Pastrengo (Verona)
Job Details
We would expect her to look after a wonderful 6 year old boy for a few hours a day and help him with his homework. When we are not available because of our work commitments we need her to look after a 18 months baby for an average of six hours a day four days a week. Help in some light housework and cooking would be appreciated. She would have 3 evenings and 1 day off a week; 1 weekend off a month (from Friday evening to Monday morning) and 30 days holiday per year. We are offering a salary package of 180 Euros (net) per week, use of a car, private accommodation, all meals and all household bills. The accommodation provided for the au pair is a large and comfortably furnished room with private bathroom. We have international satellite TV (with English language) and Internet access. We could also help in arranging an Italian language course. We are an italian family of 4. We are a modern, "young" middle aged couple and we both work for a German airline (Captain and ground crew) based in Italy. We travel a lot for fun and we hope our children will benefit from the experience the au pair would bring. We are particularly keen on our children learning English. We live on a small hill with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We are a very short distance from Lake Garda, one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe. We are also not far from the Dolomite mountains. So, whether you have a desire for scuba diving, sailing or hillwalking and skiing, all tastes are catered for. Then of course there is Verona, the nearest city (20 minutes by car). This historic Roman city offers all that you would expect of a typical Italian city and more. There is the Arena which is used for concerts - from opera to rock, unbelievable shopping for all budgets, all the usual street cafes, being an historic city, it is very vibrant and full of young people. Verona is very well located. In two hours you can reach Milan, Venice and Bologna. In 3-4 hours (by train) you can get to Germany, Austria, Croatia or Switzerland. With the trains being quite inexpensive (for example, less than 10 Euros to Venice!!!), there is no excuse not to go exploring! Verona is also very well connected by air. There are two international airports serving the city, one of which is used by Ryanair. Our house is a large, new detached house on three levels in it's own landscaped gardens. It is very light and airy, getting the sun all day long. The area is very safe both day and night. The weather is naturally seasonal. In winter it is cold and generally sunny (but not the damp that gets under your skin!) and there's always snow on the mountains. In summer it is wonderfully warm with long sunny days. Typical temperatures range between 25 - 35 degrees C. We have friends (an English/Irish couple) who have lived here for many years who, should you need it, be willing to help with language, settling in, general advice or any questions you may have.
